Rebekah Doweyko, LPC, CEDS-S
Rebekah Bardwell Doweyko, LPC, CEDS-S, is a passionate member of Walden Behavioral Care's senior leadership team, and under her direction, the clinics have developed and implemented various specialized treatment tracks including the country's first specialized IOP programming for LGBTQ+ populations with eating disorders. Bekah founded and developed Walden's first Weight Inclusivity Task Force - a truly multi-disciplinary initiative focused on challenging wright stigma and individualizing weight restoration and/or weight neutral goals. In her current role, she is responsible for program development and clinical, administrative, and fiscal oversight of all Walden's virtual programs as well as several ambulatory clinics. Bekah has over 20 years of eating disorder experience and is thus a sought-after local, regional and national consultant and presenter. Prior to joining Walden in 2013, Bekah was an Intensive Care Manager - managing every Medicaid eating disorder case at the Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership (Beacon Health Options) in Rocky Hill, CT. She also founded and directed the Intuitive Eating Program (IOP) at Hollywood Pavilion Hospital in Hollywood, FL, and held various clinical positions at The Renfrew Center in Coconut Creek, FL. Bekah composed the foreword to the highly acclaimed Maintaining Recovery From Eating Disorders self-help book by Naomi Feigenbaum and was featured in the Emmy Nominated HBO Documentary "THIN."
